Campus Free City
Development of a networked fleet of modular robotic vehicles for urban mobility, transport, and service tasks
Details | |
Period: | November 2021 - May 2024 |
Objectives: | The key features from the applicant's perspective are as follows: - Complete replacement of current motor vehicle ownership in the city center (manual operation, distributed ownership) by an automated, networked, modular vehicle fleet of a central operator (Mobility as a Service) - while retaining bicycle traffic and rail-based mass transport systems - Mapping of all vehicle-based services through a coordinated vehicle fleet: freight transportation, passenger transportation, municipal work - Complete mapping of business transactions from service request to provision through to automated and secure billing by the networked control system - Enabling data-driven optimization as a decisive success factor for profitability and acceptance - Innovative human-machine interface "Avatar" of the CityBot train modules for communication with cyclists and pedestrians - Comprehensive value proposition for the urban population: improved quality of life as a result of a reduction in traffic-induced emissions and land consumption as well as inner-city traffic density to around 20% of today's vehicle numbers |
