DEKRA designated as a Notified Body to certify electrical products for Oman and Bahrain markets

  • DEKRA expands its certification services in the Middle East for Energy Efficiency, Electrical Safety and EMC Testing.
DEKRA has been designated as a Notified Body to certify electrical products for the Oman and Bahrain markets. In Oman, DEKRA has been authorized by GSO and the Directorate General for Standards and Metrology (DGSM) to carry out conformity assessment procedures according to the country’s Energy Efficiency requirements and Technical Regulation for Low-Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances. Likewise, DEKRA has been designated in Bahrain by GSO and the Bahrain Testing and Metrology Directorate (BTMD) to perform conformity assessments according to the country's Energy Efficiency scheme. These recognitions have been granted to DEKRA China, but customers can request them worldwide via our Global Market Access services .

Air conditioners, washing machines, water heaters, and refrigerators entering the Omani market must complete energy efficiency registration and have energy efficiency labels on their packaging before being sold. With DEKRA's recent authorization by the DGSM, customers can rely on DEKRA for energy efficiency certification and label registration services for products exported to Oman. Additionally, Oman has implemented a Gulf Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances, including safety and EMC provisions, and DEKRA also support customers with it.
For Bahrain, DEKRA can also support customers who are commercializing air conditioner products in this country by testing their cooling and heating capacity and performance. These services and scope are expected to be expanded as regulations are broadened.
