DEKRA at the 5th World Hydrogen Congress 2024 in Copenhagen, Denmark
Hydrogen Expertise on the Big Stage
- DEKRA to join various expert panels
- Safe and sustainable process chains for green hydrogen
- Closing the regulatory gaps in the hydrogen economy
Expert organization DEKRA will be presenting its extensive knowledge of the hydrogen economy at the World Hydrogen Congress being held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on October 1 and 2, 2024. As a testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) organization, DEKRA will be demonstrating solutions for a safe and sustainable hydrogen economy in all areas of the process chain. DEKRA experts will be sharing their knowledge on various platforms and in a number of forums during the congress, which is the main event of World Hydrogen Week, taking place from September 30 to October 4, 2024.
“We must make ramping up the green hydrogen economy a success,” says Stan Zurkiewicz, CEO of DEKRA. “Only a safe and sustainable hydrogen process chain will make it possible to win broad public acceptance and achieve global climate goals. Our experts are enabling us to contribute to this objective.”
As a TIC organization, DEKRA is involved in every phase of the green hydrogen value chain, providing expert services to ensure safe and sustainable systems and processes including wind and solar energy systems, electrolyzers, high-pressure gas pipelines, tanker vehicles and pressure vessels, tank farms, and industrial infrastructure. DEKRA also develops testing technology and safety concepts for hydrogen applications, and deploys its valuable sustainability, mobility, and regulatory expertise in support of research, industry, and decision-makers.
“To ensure the broad acceptance and growth of hydrogen as an energy source, a comprehensive, globally harmonized regulatory framework of norms, standards, and testing requirements is essential,” says DEKRA’s CEO Zurkiewicz, elaborating on the company’s policy demands. “Planning and permitting processes must be completed rapidly. Hydrogen infrastructure management requires a legal framework and a large user base focused on selected industries. The necessary certification of renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO) also requires political approval.”
At the World Hydrogen Congress, DEKRA will be sharing its knowledge in a range of formats on various platforms, with experts in plant and process safety, sustainability, legislation, mobility, and certification available to provide advice. The “DEKRA Talk Corner” (Stand D102) will offer a continuous program of specialist topics and the option to speak individually with experts.
With more than 3,500 professional visitors, World Hydrogen Week 2024 in Copenhagen is a leading industry convention. It is the umbrella for four events aimed at fostering the transition to clean and sustainable energy: World Hydrogen Derivatives, World Hydrogen Intelligence Day, the World Hydrogen Global Projects Summit, and the 5th annual World Hydrogen Congress.
