Jan 29, 2025

DEKRA has been accredited by ONAC (Colombian Accreditation Body) under the accreditation code 23-CPR-015, in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065:2012, to certify electrical products in compliance with RETIE (Technical Regulation for Electrical Installations), RETILAP (Technical Regulation for Lighting and Street Lighting Equipment), and RETIQ (Technical Regulation for Energy Labeling). Additionally, DEKRA is authorized to officially register certified products in SICERCO, the Information System for Certificates of Conformity managed by SIC (Colombian Superintendence of Industry and Commerce).

This milestone enhances DEKRA´s ability to provide certification services for electrical products across the entire Latin American market. Under this accreditation, DEKRA certifies electrical products according to the ISO 17067 schemes 4 and 5, which require testing, production assessment, and audit of quality management systems of the manufacturers. Customers can benefit from a streamlined and efficient certification process through DEKRA’s global network of laboratories and offices, offering comprehensive support at every stage.
The scope of this accreditation includes a wide range of products, such as air conditioners, domestic washing machines and refrigerators and freezers (domestic and commercial), lighting products, domestic components, and more.
“This accreditation is a significant achievement for us, enabling our customers to access new markets”, said Juan Guamán, Certification Manager at the DEKRA Certification Body for Colombia. Looking ahead, DEKRA plans to extend its accreditation scope in 2025 to include the updated versions of RETIE and RETILAP, set to take effect in July 2025.
With this new accreditation, DEKRA further strengthens its extensive portfolio of services in Latin America with existing accreditations for electrical safety and wireless approvals in Brazil, Chile and Mexico, as well as services for energy efficiency for 12 countries: Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru and Panama. DEKRA also provides its digital platform, DEKRA SolutionPro, to efficiently manage certification projects online.
“This accreditation reinforces DEKRA’s leadership in the certification of electrical and electronic products in the region and underscores our commitment to sustainable global development”, said Cesar Valencia, VP of Business Line Product Certification and Global Market Access at DEKRA.
